Most SOAP requests do not use SOAP headers, but they are occasionally necessary, for purposes of security, auditing, routing, and so on. To add a SOAP header, we’ll split the envelope into body and header sections using the keywords “body”and “header.”

 

 

Each of our request instances will now contain a header block with a single element “issued-at,” containing a timestamp for the moment at which the instance was generated.
