In their simplest form, attribute declarations look pretty much like element declarations. The only difference is the fact that the name of the attribute is preceded by the attribute specifier, ‘@’.

 

 

In this example, we use “instance” to create an instance of the “office-suite” type and “write” to display that instance. The elaboration operator, “!”, also known as “bang” is used to express our type instance as XML text.
